Manilla and Calligraphy

The touch of the pen on the paper, the thoughtful words that come out on the paper with a carefully crafted line, the patience and love for the process – that’s calligraphy in our sense. With our calligrapher Kaiva Narbute. Manilla has been together since the beginning, when we met in 2013 to organise the first calligraphy course, which, by the way, is still running today. Manilla cards are unimaginable without calligraphy and the illustrations created especially for them, which are an integral part of Manilla. Countless cards, gift wrapping papers, invitations, books and place cards, labels – this and much more have been created with Kaiva’s calligraphy.

Custom calligraphy orders

Every day, clients come to us to place individual calligraphy orders for weddings and other celebrations, as well as to delight their loved ones – in a special and personal way. Orders range from writing a single word on a piece of paper to beautiful and graceful inscriptions in centenary books. We write not only on paper, but also on boxes, envelopes and gift papers, and sometimes on glass, stones, shells, apples or even guitars. We listen to our clients’ wishes and, with our experience and calligrapher’s recommendations, we are happy to realise them!

Any idea can be realised, it just needs to be dreamt up and implemented. Let’s make beautiful memories together!

Orders can be placed in a variety of ink colours, including black, grey, blue, red, white, gold, silver and more.

Material

The choice of material is a crucial step in selecting the material and surface on which your calligraphy order will look perfect. We do not recommend glossy or slippery papers, as a surface that is too embossed can produce uneven results.

After the details of your order have been finalised, your order will be ready for collection in 3 to 6 working days at the Manilla store, 55 Tērbatas Street.
